It was as if God had that prayer to touch my soul before I sang to touch the heart of the congregation. But I don’t feel like that would have happen if first the prayer didn’t come before I sang. It was as if it was effortless for me to sing and not only was the congregation’s was pleased, but I song my soul happy.
When I think of the different cultures and denomination I can’t help but think of the scripture that talks about the many members, but one body, 1 Corinthians 12:12 My first experience that a participatory worship impacted me was when I was on program to sing, but before I sang we had prayer and the prayer was so powerful that my spirit was so fill that when it came time for me to sing God had blessed my voice with so much power that notes that I was having problems with at rehearsal the day before that Sunday just came out with no problem.
Also I feel that in the way that we can overcome some of the cultural differences in worship is to have an open mind about the way others worship, knowing that everyone worship differently and that due to the different denomination and cultures its all in acceptance and not thinking that your way is the only way or your ways being the correct way. Confusion comes into play when it is no organization in the preparation of the order of worship services and not having any order of the service what so ever.
